This is my favourite instax photo I have ever taken so far with my camera. I must get a teeny tiny frame for it.
I went on the London Eye today. It was fun.
Liberty in London is just a cool looking building. I love it. The inside is pretty fancy too!
Today I went to Jamie’s Italian. It was amazingly delicious.
We went to the Columbia Road Flower Market today. It was pretty fantastic. There were lots of nice flowers to buy and tonnes of really cool little shops in which I would have bought many thing were it not for me being incredibly poor. However I highly recommend it. Afterwards we walked to Spitalfields Market and then went to the Whitechapel Galley. We packed lots in today without really realising it. Now I am le tired.
Last night as I was about to go to sleep when I asked my boyfriend what we should grab in case there was a fire or the rioters decided to rob my home here in London.
Thankfully I don’t think I’ll have to actually make a dash from my house as my area of London has been largely untouched by the rioters.
I’d like to ask all of my followers to have a little bit of respect and tact with their posts regarding the events here in London as I’ve been shocked to see some people I follow who I thought were made of kinder stuff making snap judgements.
People here have lost their posessions, their homes and their businesses. This is not because of the government or “England”. It is because a bunch of people decided to go on a of a crime spree, wrecking their own communities in the process because they are the kind of individuals who don’t see consequence if it means getting themselves a new pair of trainers or a plasma television.
So yeah, be nice people - it’s a frightening time to be living in London and I’d rather not have to unfollow some otherwise genuinely nice tumblr folks.
In case anyone was wondering or worried, I’m absolutely fine where I am in London. I can hear a lot more sirens than usual but apart from that it’s quiet here.
Here’s hoping that all of this calms down and this senseless, random violence stops because it is absolutely ridiculous. There is no motivation at all behind it, it is just a bunch of criminals looking to start trouble.
I hope all my fellow Londoners are doing okay too. Take care of yourself, stay off the streets.
Here’s a little photoset of my day in London today. It was a fun one!
I visited the new M&M World here in London yesterday. I got a bag of tennis themed peanut M&M’s because today marks the first day of Wimbledon 2011. I thought it was fitting, I shall sit and eat them while I watch the coverage on telly.
My boyfriend convinced me to rent a Barclays Bike this past weekend. I was completely against the idea because the thought of cycling through London’s busy traffic of large buses and speeding black cabs terrified me. However after some coaxing he got me on the bike. I was completely afraid of being on the road in traffic - I don’t know how to drive, I don’t know what etiquette is on the road with cars. However after speeding past the busy Buckingham palace amidst plenty of fast motor vehicles flanking me left and right I realised that it wasn’t so frightening.
Once I calmed down I noticed how much I missed cycling a bike. It was something I did daily as a child. I was crazy when I was young, having no problem tearing through working building sites with ease. Sitting on a bike brought back all those fond memories and once I got off I realised how crappy walking is in comparison.
Will I be purchasing a bike to travel around London with? Probably not. Will I rent a bike a few more times this summer? Hopefully!
