Random bit of freestyle crochet with a piece of scrap yarn. I was very sad when the yarn ran out. Maybe I need to do a bit more crochet in general!
Knitting away late tonight. This is just a simple hat which I cast on earlier in the week to have as portable travel knitting when I go home to Ireland next week. I love the colour of this yarn (Quince & Co), and I adore the bright blue DPNs I’m using which are just a pleasure to wield.
I have a week of holidays next week and this fact is sinking in more and more with every passing minute and therefore I’m becoming extremely excited and yet calm. I’m in a pretty good place right now I think, I am definitely in no position to complain. Looking forward to what the first few months of 2012 has in store for me.
I just received a new project bag as an early Christmas present! It’s amazing!
As much fun as I’ve had with my current knitting projects, I was beginning to grow weary from all the concentration each required. Last weekend when I was at Loop with my knitting friends a skein of lovely on sale alpaca was held up to my face. Everyone oooed at the way the colours looked against my face so I had to buy it. Now I’m working a simple scarf in stockinette stitch which I began with Judy’s magic cast on. That cast on is really magic. I highly recommend it!
I’m so excited to go and spend my first pay cheque on lots of lovely yarn tomorrow!
I finished my gloves! I’m absolutely in love with them. Roll on Autumn because I have the perfect hand wear for you!
I’m finished my first Coler fingerless glove. I’m a bit in love with it. I want to cast on the second one but I have to leave for an interview in 15 minutes so I don’t think that plan of action is wise…
Here is something I started this afternoon as a palate cleanser to my Daybreak Shawl. It’s another Stephen West design, called Coler. A lovely pair of fingerless gloves for the autumn months. Click the picture for the Ravelry Project Page.
I am in love with Quince & Co Yarns right now. My love for them began because their website is fabulous. However after seeing the range of yarn in my local wool shop I’m absolutely besotted with Quince & Co. I got a lovely bright green and a fantastic grey I’m obsessed with. I’m a fan, so I will most definitely be using it a lot in the future because it’s pretty good value also.
